PHIL MOSLEY
Phil Mosley has been working on and around cars since the age of twelve when he would walk to work at the corner Sunoco station where he pumped gas (in the days when attendants pumped your gas, checked your oil and washed your windshield), changed oil and ‘helped’ (the master mechanic let him ‘help’) do tune ups. Phil performed his first ‘collision repair’ after sliding his father’s Oldsmobile into a pole in the blizzard of ’78. It was - fix the car or don’t drive – he learned out of necessity.
After deciding that fixing cars was cool and going to college was boring, Phil (being much wiser and up to speed than his family who advised him against it) left college to pursue formal collision repair training at the Northern Kentucky Vocational School. That was over three decades ago. Since that time, Phil’s parents appear to be much wiser than they seemed to be during Phil’s late teens but – Phil still thinks fixing cars and, fixing them so that nobody can tell they’ve been wrecked, is cool. Phil, never did formally finish college (yet) but obtained college level education throughout his career that encompassed, Automotive Forensic Analysis and Investigation, Automotive Fraud Investigation, Automotive Arson Cause and Origin, Business Management at Darden Business College University of Virginia, as well as volumes of automotive technical and repair training and certifications including ASE Master Certification, ASE Estimator Certification and four years of Mercedes-Benz certification. Phil also served on the MBUSA Collision Operations Advisory Board in 2008.
Phil’s professional career, post Sunoco gas station, includes more than a decade of repairing wrecked cars and trucks ranging from fleet vehicles and heavy trucks to the finest and most advanced luxury imports. Phil’s resume includes more than a decade of time spent working for insurance companies as a Physical Damage Appraiser, Physical Damage Specialist and Physical Damage Manager for all of Southern Ohio, SE Indiana and N Ky. The balance of Phil’s career has been in shop management. In 2005 Phil joined up with Tom Justice and Jennifer Justice Haley to open and develop the on site collision repair facility at the new Benz dealership in Westchester Ohio. Phil’s on site dealership shop obtained manufacturer certification and was, under Phil’s leadership, reputed to be one of the highest quality collision repair facilities in the nation.
Phil, Tom and Jennifer have now joined forces and partnered up to continue the Valley Paint and Body legacy of outstanding service and the highest repair quality excellence while taking Valley Paint and Body into the future. Still providing the same level of technical excellence and quality repair mandated by the OE Certification and, building on Phil’s broad range of experience, opening that level of skill and attention to detail to all vehicle makes and models. Phil’s business motto is ‘if it has to be fixed right – it has to be fixed here’.
Phil currently serves as the President of the US Alliance of Collision Professionals ( a regional trade association), is a member of the Society of Collision Repair Specialists, the Coalition for Collision Repair Excellence and the Automotive Service Association.
